.:SUCCESS STORIES:.

Anthony Tate President/CEO of Tate Commercial Enterprises fondly says, "Tate Commercial Services was founded in 2001 with two mop buckets and a 1996 Escort with unyielding dreams and motivation." Fast forward to the year 2010. The company now has 75 to 100 employees and sub-contractors. TSC is now an Award winning facility support company, which services large square footage and high profile facilities in Nashville. Clients include Nashville Electric and the Metro Office Building.

TSC also provides complete facility support services to the most security minded facilities across the nation. Some of these are in secret locations working with the FBI and Homeland Security. For the biggest and most successful General Contractors in Nashville, TSC provides construction services.

A highlight of Mr. Tate's career occurred in fall 2008. He made a presentation to twenty of the nation's largest construction firms at a board meeting held by The Vanderbilt Diversity program. He spoke on ways to improve minority participation.

The company also has a mentoring program. Mr. Tate says, "We are currently working with nine companies; six of which are now doing six figures in revenue." Companies being mentored are in Miami, Houston and Atlanta. "We do this for no charge; we are happy to pay it forward and to help the economy on a grass roots level."

Giving back is very important for the entrepreneur. After the recent passing of Mr. Tate's mother, the family started the Bobbie Tate Nursing Scholarship. The scholarship program helps low income single mothers pass the nursing school exam and to provide support throughout their nursing education. "We are doing this is in the spirit of my mother. They say a woman can't raise a man, but that is not true. My mother raised me without help and she still gave and gave to our community. She was never rewarded in life; however, I plan for her name to live on forever!"

Anthony Tate credits his success to God's plan, family support, the Nashville Business Incubation Center, and mentors like Sam Howard and Al Bodie. He is living his dream to be a successful businessman. His favorite saying is "Building a solid business is a marathon not a sprint."
